Traditional narrative, as advocated by Freytag, can be broken down into a five part process: normality, disruption, enigma, return to normality, conclusion. It is upon this theory that we have developed the interactive narrative community Imago Nova .

It is a narrative based on five sentences interpreted in five images.

The sentences are sent weekly, to up to three different mobile mediums: mobile phones, email and pda. The series of five sentences tells a story. Each sentence has an underlying theme, yet the sentences are vague enough to encourage different interpretation. The members' stories are uploaded onto the website and migrated into a flash application with the capability to allow the user to view the story as told by others. It will also randomise the images for each story, allowing for the whole group's input to be displayed without prejudice. Imago Nova allows for continuous self-development: it encourages imaginative use of narrative as well as developing the members' photography style.

There is the potential that instead of a sentence, the site output could come in the form of a sound clip, or video.

The site includes a forum and user profiles.
